London Pubs, with Thanks to Madonna and Prince Charles

[...]Madonna and Guy Ritchie have bought in to a typical “olde worlde” pub in London’s classy Mayfair district, The Punch Bowl. Built in the 1750’s, it is cosy with dark wood panelling and low ceilings. Because the pub’s main customers are local office workers at lunchtime and after work, it is closed on Saturday evenings and on Sundays. (Don’t go in the next two weeks either because it will be closed for a facelift organized by its new owners.) When I called in last week the barman told me that the lady herself had been in the night before and he added that other celebrity clientele who have visited include Orlando Bloom, Sean Bean and Barbra Streisand.[...]

Exclusive High Moon Plot Details

from shocktillyoudrop.com

Just yesterday we were the first to introduce to you an upcoming “bloodsuckers in the Old West” horror flick called High Moon. Now we’ve got the drop on the plot sent to us by co-writer Asim Ahmad (who co-penned the script with Jordan Bayne).

High Moon “tells the story of seven very different people living in a small town in the old west, who are drawn together by fate to hunt vampires, and must rid the world of an ancient evil that has returned to seek his treasure: true immortality.”

Ahmad will co-star alongside Bayne, Justin Bautista, Tracey B. Wilson (My Wife and My Dead Wife). Shane West, Cillian Murphy, Rutger Hauer and Sean Bean are in talks to topline the cast.

Woo, Hauer, Bean, Murphy Meet at High Moon?

Actress Jordan Bayne speaks of interesting developments on an upcoming horror western entitled High Moon (not to be confused with the web comic book of the same name).

Bayne reports, via her MySpace blog, that she collaborated on the script with Asim Ahmad who is shepherding the project along with his company Solar Eclipse. “Think Lost Boys meets The Magnificent Seven,” writes Bayne. “Originally we were supposed to begin shooting in February ‘08 but it has been pushed [for a great reason which I am not at liberty to divulge quite yet] to August ‘08.”

Here’s the kicker: She says she’s co-starring in the film with Rutger Hauer and other players attached to the project are Sean Bean (The Hitcher) and Cillian Murphy (28 Days Later). John Woo is circling with the intention to executive produce.

Whether this comes to fruition or not remains to be seen.

JoBlo’s Review: Flightplan

Two thirds of this movie is pretty gosh-darn good and suspenseful. The third act, on the other hand…meh, not so much. That said, I’m still going out on a limb to recommend this film in theaters, but ever so slightly, if only because the first 2/3 were decent enough, and I don’t like castrating a movie simply because its final act doesn’t totally come through. Also, the actors were all pretty solid (even Sarsgaard, despite looking like he was falling asleep half the time), we’re given 2 hottie stewardesses and ultimately, I was pretty intrigued by the whole affair…that is, up until it resolved itself and…well, it didn’t turn out to be as great as I hoped it might be. (more…)
