The borough has been selected to launch a major British film based on the book Cass - nearly two weeks before it is shown in London.

The decision was made by the writer of the autobiography of the same name, Cass Pennant, who was born in Doncaster but moved from the area as a small child.

Cass, who was born in Hyde Park, is a reformed football hooligan who renounced violence to become a writer and publisher. His autobiography became a bestseller
